~sigh,

why are the most idealistic guys from video games ? LOL
nothing but a musing of thoughts for today for i am tired and feeling groggily.  I guess it's just because the world of neoromance is suppose to fulfill that requirement of perfection.  even if the characters aren't real, one can't help but to still admire them (aka XD fangirl modeS).
Well, I suppose it's possible that some of the characters could possibly exist in reality, but fiction must stay fiction, and any events of actuality are purely coincidental.
But for the time being, they're just cute enough to look at and delight upon (however one wants to interpret that)

T-201 days: Days Gone By

It's been a heck of while since I last did an entry.  Most of my recent postings or LJ contributions were directed to the oh-so-lovely fan community of romeo x juliet.
Lately, I've made a lot of attempts at translations from jap->eng.  I guess 6 months of really broken studying still has benefits >.>.  The only problem is there's no one checking my stuff so I could be horribly wrong or queerly correct.   I can only hope I am the latter.  My current goal is to translate the Romeo X Juliet raw manga releases I have.  There are story segments that are easy and some not so.   Not to mention the extensive use of the dictionary has set me back somewhat too =p.

blah, i need to make dinner.
i'm living in japan, but laptop clock is set to pacific time zone where home is, so i know when my family is awake.

Another Revolution~Lyric Translations

Here I cometh again with another translation....I did this song because it sounded cool and stood out so well from the rest of the gang-rock piano XD.
Another Revolution is Tsuchiura Ryoutaro's character song from the Espressivo album.

With respects to my other attempted translations, I tried to make it colloquial and casual sounding so it's somewhat of a rather liberal translation.

April 27, T-258 days

I think it's 258 days.

Ah I can't tune my violin ToT.  Either my chromatic tuner is whacked or I just have really bad ears.  My pitch pipe only hits a match for A and G string against the chromatic tuner.  And it seems impossible to D for some reason...tuner just feeds back a sharp G and a flat A @_@"".  E string not happy either...always too sharp.  Or it could be that my cheap violin really is too cheap to work properly...darn pegs.

Forget being able to play anything, I'm just going to practice bowing and music theory until I can get help for tuning... I need to gain enough stamina to move that bow continuously without getting tired.

Golden week is almost here in Japan, which means everyone's going to splurge on their one week holiday.  I don't have many plans other than shop for some anime goods and redo my website.  I will bike around town provided that the streets aren't crowded and it's not raining.  ~_~.

Alright, bedtime for me now..... ..... .... tis been a long week at work.

April 21,2007. T-264 days until home

Bleg, I think I should actually write in my journal and not just use it for community posting reasons.

Wow, almost the end of April...I've been in Japan for how long now?  Me thinketh I've breached the 3 month mark.  Let's see now, aside from the internship not being the greatest thing on earth, I'm glad I came over to see a different part of the world.  Certainly it's not quite in the image I had prior coming here, but heck it's okay.  Life is suppose to be full of surprises, ne?

T'was terribly homesick though.  Terribly terribly homesick that I was on the verge of packing up and leaving the place and go back to the other side of the Pacific Ocean, back to my dearly beloved Vancouver, BC, Canada...also known as the city of rain LOL.

One small thing bothers me being in Japan.  People are quite ignorant in their own way.  I'm a foreigner, I bear the good ol' Maple Leaf flag, and it's like "huh? that person is a foreigner?...but she's got black hair and brown eyes?...she's got to be asian, either from China or a resident of Japan."  Geez, I've gotten quite a few double takes being out here.  It's my unimpressive Japanese speaking and listening ability that sets me apart from the normal citizens.   And dangit...I'm not Chinese...I'm CANADIAN (born and raised)-->there's a fat difference.  In the Japanese language, their way of describing ones heritage is by nationality, not by ethnicity.  I guess their idea of a foreigner is anyone who doesn't look like them =p.

There's my little rant about the people. Now about the country.

Suicide rates based on work stress and school bullying is creepy.  When I read the Daily Yomiuri and hear of such news, it's like "didn't something like that happen just a few weeks ago?"  Japanese culture seems so standardized to me.  People are expected to perform and achieve things.  Suicides are accepted daily norms (as it appears to me, since no one really seems to give a damn about it...).  Drinking parties after work are outlets of stress-relieving (how about a day off being a better stress reliever?)  I've hardly adapted to the culture and refuse to bend my way of thinking that everything is okay the way it is because it's always been like that.  A society that heavily relies on technological advances...can't be a good thing.  People need to change, not the little gadgets.

Hmm..T-264 days.  Yeah, a one year internship.  I'm enjoying the loads of manga and anime goods a heck of a lot more than work, that's for sure.   Currently hooked onto Gonzo's rendition of Romeo & Juliet.  Previously was hooked onto Koei's Kiniro no Corda-Primo Passo (still am hooked).  I've been attempting to study Japanese, but I can't find much time other than on the weekends or on odd weeknights.  But I'm going to start translation practice so hopefully I'll improve.  Won't make a strong attempt at writing my journal in Japanese though...

Alright, off to completing fanfiction.  I am so overdue for my new chapter ToT.

Sigh, lab report getting me down. I've had some strange thoughts recently. Ie. I'm different, aren't I? Yeah, I am...but it's not like I'm special or anything. Everyone is different in their own respective way, but I seem to have deviated to the ends of the distribution curve. I'm not sure of what I want. I know what I am, who I am even why I am. It's funny, but there isn't much time to keep smiling or laughing. I do know what I'm doing. I'm waiting. Waiting for someone and something. Of course, those 2 cannot be disclosed. What fun would it be if the world knew what they were? Ahh, it's time to get kicking on the homework again.

One day, I might become the knight I was meant to be or the the princess I never dreamt of becoming. God works in strange and mysterious ways -- I'm thankful for that.

And out of the darkness of despair was the light of hope.

Pretear: My Moment in Anime

  • Aug. 29th, 2004 at 6:19 PM
salut d'amour
For the longest time ever since I've watched anime, I couldn't find something that I really loved watching. Sure, there were good anime series, but they were just good--nothing to fanatic myself over. I never thought I'd find one. I started fanarting for some reason, mainly because I liked to draw...problem was there wasn't something out there I really wanted to draw. I'm a fan of shoujo and shounen goods. Hmm, what I really longed for was a favourite anime couple. I felt deprived because I had all these bishounens on the character list. As fate would have it, I was destined to encounter Pretear and live the fairy tale.
Why Pretear? It wasn't that big of a hit and it came out in 2001. I stumbled across it earlier on this 2004 year, wishing I had found it sooner. As far as I was concern, I missed out T.T. Google searching Pretear came out with...not that many hits. Oops, I'm going off topic from the beginning. My random web playing led me to a site where the Pretear manga was being scanalated before its now liscenced state (I've ordered my volumes and waiting their arrival ^_^). I just dled the first chapt and to be honest 'instantly fell in love' with it. Somehow, I found a friend who had Pretear VCDs and I watched the series TWICE! (before finals too =p). I'm gonna get the DVDs eventually. If not for Pretear, I probably wouldn't be the fanartist (and generic anime artist) I am now. I started to seriously use Photoshop since end of April and hell, spent pretty much my whole summer on fanart [deeply saddened that school is up around the corner]. Pretear is my first and absolute favourite fanart subject.
So which knight do I love? Hayate of course. For several biased reasons. One: THE SWORD!!! (yea, I love the sword user). Two: BLUE!!! (fav. colour) Three: Most importantly, the character himself. It's scary when a character reminds you of yourself (ie. if I project myself as a guy...well, Hayate pretty much fits the description and no need to go into matching details either @_@).
I could probably go on forever about Pretear, but I'll just leave it as it is: the most important anime series in my life. I can't imagine never watching it >;<.
